fuel cap

Hi Folks

An embarrassingly ( 4 me anyway) simple question. The fuel cap on a +2S 130 which way does the fuel tank cap hinge. Is it front or rear hinged?

The reason for wanting to know is that I am fitting a vent for the fuel tank into the pipe and dont want to cut the hole 180 degrees out

Hinge towards the front of the car. At risk of a lesson in egg sucking, if you're fitting a new cap you may want to check whether it has a vent in it - if it does you may want to block it up to prevent fuel spillage when going round right hand corners with a tank over 1/2 full (I used a blob of epoxy/araldite).
