Hi . I have the block back in the chassis now and I am fitting the "bits" back on .I have the recon glass domed AC fuel pump and I find the workshop manual a bit vague.
I have the Pump and a black plastic piece about 6mm thick that goes inbetween the block and pump. My question is should there be 2 paper gaskets as well or is the block the gasket.? Thanks John.

Hi John
I have just fitted my engine back into the car. When I fitted the fuel pump I had a fuel pump spacer / gasket that was a plastic block faced on each side the some (paper?) gasket. This was included in the gasket kit I bought in preparation for the rebuild. If you are not using a new spacer I would reassemble using a good quality silicone gasket sealant. I would have thought the best route would be to replace the spacer with a new item. They are not expensive.
Good luck

Thanks Andy . I will add a new block to the parts list .The AC service kit only had one paper gasket thats what confused me .Probably the paper gaskets either side of the plastic block have been removed by the PO.
Regards John.
