I used rubber 'U' channel from Car Builder Solutions:

S2 owner here, I have just replaced the weber airbox seal on my elan. I found that the ideal rubber seal could be sourced from the early Toyota corolla (any of the very early K series engine's) tappet cover seal. The seal almost fitted straight on, but needed a small section removed to make a snug fit, (Slightly too large) the rubber gasket material can be cut with sharp blade in your Stanley knife & easily rejoined with super glue. The best part was the cost... about $20.00AU at the local Repco parts store. It is worth checking this out.
