Suppose I really only need the seals.
As I can not order from Europe, and N America wont sell to businesses or individuals.
Anyone have a kit, or is willing to mail me one? After payment of course.
Kind Regards
P.m if you can help please

Find out where the limits are, and start from there

Thicko alert! What’s a Square D rebuild kit?
I can possibly order what you need and if I can separate out the seals and just post them that part will probably be quite cheap
Let me know

Maybe someone like Grainger, McMaster-Carr or similar industrial supply could get you what you want.

From what I recall from two years ago, and I am running into it again. European suppliers can not sell to N America.
Don’t think I need anything but the seals, and before I take these apart I would like to have new ones. I do have a good stock of O rings, I get scared of exact sizing.
If anyone knows the sizes to has a kit they are willing to measure please.
Not sure if I will get any replies from Europe sellers, I asked a few last week. Nothing yet

I think you mean Koni Special D, not Square D.

This page seems to suggest they have a lifetime warranty.

Would it pay you to call them?

Ah, very interesting.
Funny how corporations are these day. Do you think they will cite used, and too old. Once I pay $100’s for shipping.
I will call
I very much appreciate the kind gesture
We have been without electricity for a couple days, and they say 4 more to go.
Good thing we have 4 wood stoves, and a generator etc... Life is great in the wilderness.

So no go with Koni N. America. Only if one purchases aftermarket (yup, if stock on car no warranty) and need to prove receipt from new. Not used.
So the only thing I can do it seems is find the size of the shafts and have some seals at the ready.
Any chances someone has a set they can measure please. Mine are still in the +2 and Lotus only garage with a heap of snow blocking the car door.
SP Suspension in the UK seem to be the only ones able to help. Though they have not got back to me yet...
A chap in the states who does mostly bikes, might have an old set, but he needs to know the shaft size.
Kind Regards

Funny, just got the message from SP
“Depending on the part numbers off your shock absorbers, many old parts are not available from the factory.
We do not sell internal parts.”
So I am on the hunt for shaft size please

Good to have friends.
Ive been told the original ones are
Model 82R 1371
005
Shaft size 21.78 mm or .85_75
So now to find seals, and figure what oil to use!

chap in the USA has pointed me to where I started.
So, this is not good. No help from UK, Europe, or N America.
Anyone?
I would take at least 3 sets of seals, if someone knows someone please

Ian Gardiner is the other UK Koni specialists (along with SP) that is factory recognised. Ian has rebuilt several sets of Koni's for me. I think he said that there was a design change at some point and the old seals were NLA, but he managed to locate seals that would fit. I doubt if he could do it without the dampers in front of him. Your best bet maybe to find a company in North America that likes a challenge, otherwise you'd have to ship them to and from the UK. Good luck.
