Which type are you after? Bolt-on filter type with rotor, or vanes? Or screw-on filter with rotor?

Or are Hobourn Eaton rotor type with screw on filter acceptable?

Just asking to help clarify whether you are looking for a specific one for a particular standard look, or one that works as it should as there's more than one way to skin a cat!

Hi, yes she does, but don't think they're the original manufacturer to Ford, ie Hobourn-Eaton, or Burman.
Most of those on the market nowadays are made in China.
Looking for an original Ford supplied one if possible.

Yes, either a Hoburn-Eaton one, or a Burman one (Burman preferred), ie original suppliers to Ford, either with spin-on filter. Many thanks

The best standard Ford pump is the later spin on filter type with 731M part number housing. This has the widest rotor lobes of the standard series pumps as well as an oil bypass direct into the intake port for reduced chance of cavitation in the intake pickup pipe.

The earlier pumps with separate bolt on canister have narrower rotor lobes than the spin on type filter ones (i.e they have a slightly lower maximum volume flow rate than the spin on type).

Yes I'm aware of the issues surrounding the chinese manufactured pumps, hence the wanted ad for an original Ford supplied (Hoburn-Eaton or Burman) spin-on filter pump. Finding one is the issue at the moment, as I believe they haven't been manufactured for some long time.

Produced in the millions for Ford Cortinas and Escorts. Should be quite easy to get a good genuine Ford secondhand one from the UK. Try Ebay UK. The Ford ones are incredibly reliable and durable. There's a few different varieties for different applications though. Don't use one from a Ford Fiesta or Capri as the mounting angle of the filter is different to the Elan/Cortina/Escort one

Despite there being millions produced by Ford, there has only been one standard NOS original Ford one in the past 2 months on Ebay, and hardly any S/H ones that look good enough. Plenty of H/P ones, but I want a standard 40psi one.
I've been checking every day. That one finishes this evening and I'm hoping to be successful. I'm aware of the differences of the Fiesta and Capri one, thanks.

Not sure what you mean by look good enough. A bit of dirt doesn't hurt. Easy to clean. It's very rare that they wear to the extent of becoming unserviceable and you can only really tell after you take the outer rotor out and check for scoring on the lobes. Grease and oil is good in fact. NOS ones can have the pressure relief valve firmly rusted in place!

Just found this on Ebay. Great value for 10 GBP. Best to ask them to remove the filter before sending though
