Lotus Elan

WTB - S2 Windshield Frame

PostPost by: Skiracer » Sun Sep 20, 2020 10:00 pm

Hello,

Looking to buy a windshield frame for a 1966 Elan S2. I believe S1/S2 is compatible.

Located in Pittsburgh, PA USA. Open to driving to buy if within reasonable distance and/or shipping quotes.

Thanks!

when you say "frame", do you mean the actual fiberglass body work? or just the rubber surround material?
the fiberglass is part of the actual cowl unibody whole, not a "bolt on" part.
please correct me if i am wrong...
I stand corrected! :)

S1/2 had the bolt on front window frames but note my experience is early ones were one bolt per side and later two bolts per side. 66 would I presume be two per side based on my previous later 65 having two per side, depending on build time vs registered year which seems a Lotus puzzle as usual.

Hi guys,

Right for our S2 it is a fiberglass detachable frame.

There are two lower bolts on the sides of the frame that goes in between front of doors and under dash area. There are a number of bolts around the front.

Here’s a link to a picture from a vendor. Unfortunately shipping costs for this brand new one is high and hoping to find one in the states.
