British advertising shorthand
WHY = What Have You

It harks back to the times when adverts were paid by the word or letter.

Ahh, an anachronistic acronym, but probably again in vogue, though I am not a twitter, nor frequent texting, etc. fellow..fortunately..these days...
I should have looked it up, the acronym dictionary is likely larger now than the Oxford.
Personally I tend to just write stuff out, by the time I correct Apple inspired word jumps, unwanted caps. etc. find it just as fast to type the words, assuming one has some typing skills.
Same heritage and language, but somehow cultures evolved so differently in 153 years. :D
I bought a UK made high end amplifier many years back and the on/off switch was installed upside down; then I bought my first Elan and realised (realized) “on” is down there....who would have thought? :lol:

Thanks Alan.

Apparently it’s easier to accidentally knock a switch down than up!

Gas mileage is a fun one, UK versions of cars do better gas mileage than US versions. Plenty of people get annoyed about this.
