Twincam rebuilders

Evening all. I visit here from time to time for a read but post infrequently.
I think majority of engine builders can deal with the most of it but perhaps not so good for the head.
Are there any suggestions for good twincam builders in the southwest sector of the UK please?
Thank you as always.

I’m guessing he still does the work here but Nick Stagg in the Bristol area knows a twin cam better than most.

I'm sure that I've seen something recently that Nick has retired, unfortunately.

Not sure how far down in the south west you are but there is Mark Shillaber in Launceston who knows how to work these heads, He builds many different competition engines and has acheived some good results. He also has a rolling road to set up as well as a test house for the engines and is not over the top with prices, a genuinely nice guy too. Details below,

Launceston is close to me so I'll arrange to share a cuppa and listen to what they have to say.
Thanks again.

Vulcan engineering did a top notch job on my sprint head
I've got a deadline, at 73, I want to finish it before I die!

Jumping in as also looking for a good builder but I’m the other end of the country in North Scotland! Luckily have a VW T6 camper van so distance no object for me. Some quick research uncovered John Wilcox and BBR Engineering but both companies now dissolved. Remaining likely options seem to be Scholar in Stowmarket, PJS Lotus in Burton on Trent, Ranscombe Cars in Knebworth, Vulcan at Brands and JS Motorsport in Warwickshire (might only be doing Climax engines now though). Anyone recommend any others or rule any of the above out for any reason. Thanks

Give John a call at JS Motorsport as he did a twincam engine for me end of last year and also for another chap locally that I bumped into. He has downsized a bit but as far as I know is still doing Twincams as well as some other engines. I should also add that going to look for yourself at the workmanship is worth doing.

Neither PJS Lotus in Burton on Trent nor Ranscombe Cars in Knebworth do the work themselves, so I would not use either. Find someone who actually does the machining themselves. I would not use Barum either.
What about AGRA Enginereing in Dundee. Supposed to be good, and up your neck of the woods to.

I know the geography is not ideal for either of you, but Craig Beck Racing near Bury St Edmunds is an excellent Lotus twin cam specialist for both road and race rebuild and preparation.

Thanks for the pointers. Will look into Agra and the others mentioned. Will be dropping engine off myself so always like a good look around the workshop to get a feel for the place.
