Is it possible to tell if this is a single groove or double groove shaft without removing the bearing carrier ?

I would say single grove (the profile may have been reground to an other profile along the life of the engine, so you need to know the history of the camshaft to be 100% sure... you may measure lift in situ as a confirmation to some extent)

Thanks, that's what I thought as well. I don't know the history of the engine so could well be replacement shafts. It's an H suffix engine so according to the "book" it should have D type shafts,, not C type.

Hi

Thank you for posting the picture. I now know that my recently bought plus 2 has SE cams. What does that mean exactly haha. Its not the cars original engine, so I am not sure what spec it is.

All the best

Berni
