I posted about this a while ago and received no response. As an update I have since built up a Ford/Burman high pressure / high volume oil pump using a combination of NOS Ford and Triumph parts and am about to fit it.
Initial impression of this gasket designed to the latest Ford specification are good. It's of a one piece steel construction and a continuous raised section provides the sealing lip. Similar principle to an MLS head gasket just without the "ML" bit - just an "S" gasket in other words!
Although originally designed for the later Valencia series Ford engines I can't see any good reason why it also wouldn't work on any Kent based engine. It would appear to be the best gasket to use - plus it's cheap!
One proviso though is that it does block of the PRV oil return opening in the block. This is no issue with all the later design pumps that recirculate PRV oil direct to the pump inlet port rather than to the sump - i.e 711M and 731M part number spin-on filter type bodies (virtually all of the new pattern pumps are to this design as well) . It will not work without modification with the canister style pump or the 701M spin-on filter pump.
Here it is here:
https://www.burtonpower.com/oil-pump-ga ... p710a.htmlI think it's still available from Ford directly as well. Used in the Valencia based industrial engines and early 2000's Ford Ka.
Pictures attached. Still interested in comments from anyone who may have used this gasket previously.
