Can anyone with an original, or close to, Sprint muffler with an oem rear hanger, ie, closest to the
rear of the car, tell me if the spare tire rests on the bolt head, or nut, that protudes into the
boot?

I'm not sure if the picture I attached has the hanger in the correct location (fore/aft) but these
are the fasteners I asking about.

It does on mine! There is an under wheel/tyre foam pad it digs into. That was in the car when I bought it at 6 years old. Never gave it a second thought at the time!!
