No affiliation with this product, though just saw that Ivey had Moroso make a new 6 bolt oil T pan - I wish it were a copy of the Elan direct style pan - but this is a cool option if it fits your car.

Looks like extreme overkill to me! Boy that thing is ugly!

It would be interesting to see the press in centre pick up design they have to match the sump. Based on my experience you don't really need a big winged sump design to avoid problems loosing oil pressure in corners either. But I presume that comes from Cortina and Escort racing where that seems more the norm.

cheers

Some nice fabrication there.

Doesn't appear to offer much ground clearance though for a low race car like an Elan or Cortina. It looks like it'll be surface ground/finished quite quickly!

The best thing about this pan is the diamond shape of the gated box surrounding the oil pickup. Having used one of these in my previous race cars, it absolutely retains and will add oil to the box when experiencing extreme corning forces. This design has been around at least since the early 70's and was the design of choice for wet sump engines. Literally hundreds of pans of this design were sold by Datsun Comp over the years, and I never heard of loss of oil pressure even in long sweeping very fast turns. Never had a bearing problem with one of these pans.

Why angle the sump, are you planning on fitting a TC into a Ginetta! Ia friend races Ginetta with angled 1500 Pre Xflow, took time and a fair amount of the trial an error to get the angled wet sump to capacity and working without loss of oil pressure

No, an elan. Not this huge angle. But I wonder if a minor angle would help. Of course it could not dip too low, so maybe it would require more of a wing on the low side?
