I'm about to start the build of an engine and out of the recesses of my garage I've come across these. Can anyone identify what brand they are by the casting number on the big end cap? Thx

It appears that a number of you have viewed this but no insights...yet. Here's a side view with some identification that is obscured either by process or design, perhaps this helps?

It looks very much like a Holbay design rod to me. I bought a set once but returned them because they told me they were wide journal when in fact they were narrow journal.

Ah-ha, that appears to be very similar and I do have 4 of them, lucky me!

One last post with another casting number on the flank of the rod "C1160" if that's meaningful. In any case, they are VERY sturdy and I plan on using them once I have them checked/magnifluxed/reconditioned. I have confirmed they are of the appropriate length so I will proceed.

Pretty sure it's a Holbay rod. From the pictures the Cosworth rods have a wider land at the side around the big end and the I beam part is also a slightly different shape. The "C" in the "C1160" may stand for "Coltec" who took over Holbay but continued to use the design
