Purchased an Elan +2 manuf in April 1969, 3 months into restoration and have more questions than answers. Will start at the front, how is the air filter housing mounted? Intake snorkels facing the front or facing the motor? Are snorkels horizontal or vertical, pictures?
Was the air filter housing originally painted black or hammered silver color?
Anybody have a lead on the amber front turn signal lens shaped like a shield? Are there any other vehicles the used them?

Thanks to everyone who has answered my questions in the past and in case I forget, in the future.

On the UK car they are mounted with the horns facing the engine. The horns are vertical (that is, one above the other) for a late car with the air output pipe coming out from the side. Seems that early cars have it horizontal. See here for pictures: viewtopic.php?t=23585&p=147173

Painted satin black.

Interesting. I have just dug my housing out for my disassembled 72 130S and it’s somewhat different and seems to fit flat. The car was partially disassembled when I bought it and it has had some frontal damage at some time, so the filter housing may have been replaced. See photo's is this correct?

That's not an early +2 type, Dave, which was like the Elan's as shown by type26/36's workshop diagram.
