That begs the question of how much improvement the D cams would make if dropped 'straight in' to a C cam head?

Many thanks for your information guys.

The block is from a lotus cortina & has the L behind the engine mount.

I am now trying to find out about the head compression, a test when I can get the engine to cranc may prove it.

I will look for the letter next to the spark plug this w/e.

I can't really tell from the photo but chances are that the last part is LBA rather than 1BA : check other threads on the forum for more infos if of use (e.g. initial letter can also be LP for Lotus Power...)



I'll re photo the engine number tomorrow to find out LP or LF and 1 or L

I will have to carry out a compression test to get the true reading as both the head and block have been skimmed on a total engine refurb.
