Crossflow bock value?

I have what I believe is a Ford Kent crossflow engine block.

Number TI4 711M6015BA

It came with a parts box on my project car. I have no plans for it. Any sense of the value, if any?

it depends ... ;)

if in pristine condition with caps, or if rebored beyond stock largest oversize, if someone next door needs one immediately, etc...

I would guesstimate price range to 50-200 according to the above and if in decent to good condition

I live in Montana, so I doubt anyone local needs it. Sounds like a boat anchor.

well if it's clean, not overbored, with the bearing caps ... you may hang on to it while you have the car, it could come in handy to build a cheap short block of increased capacity, e.g. to keep the car on the road during an overhaul of the original engine. Or you may get a boat some day ;) I would keep it if clean (but I'm a hoarder...)

Well it's definitely not a boat anchor. "BA" suffix means it's a 1600cc not 1300cc. 711M means it's got the desirable square mains caps and large diameter tappet bores. New ones made in USA from Ford Motorsport are around $US1,200. Previous poster's estimate is about right and it all depends on condition. Ford reproduced the block mainly due to demand from
Formula Ford racers.

Thanks guys. I'll hang on to it and store it well for a rainy day.

The same 711 engine was used not only in Formula Ford, but also hundreds of thousands of Clark forklifts, Bobcat skid steer loaders, and the World Famous Zamboni. Won't hurt to keep it, always possible to build a tallblock twink too.
