Hi All,
Someone on the site posted a picture of this cam cover.
I think it is beautiful and would like to do mine the same way.
If anyone owns it, or knows who does, please let me know. Also,
does anyone have instructions on how to get an old pitted cover to look like this?
Best,
Jay S.

to begin with i'd use wet sandpaper (600) where you'll already get a new shiny surface. thereafter its lot less polishing (2 hrs saved) with the same result. .......................that's how i polish parts unless i only need a bit of polishing sandy, alps

Mike will tell you how he got there, but you could get there by blasting with walnut shells. The original look of bare aluminum is very different from how it looks after 50 years of oxidation. I have two motorcycles from the era that once looked like this and now don't.
