water pump shaft, does anyone know the diameter of both ends

Just fitting a new water pump supplied and the diameter of the new shaft at the pulley end has increased by .025 on the new pump to 0.502 from 0.475. does anyone know of the original lotus specor can measure the shaft at both ends for me.

Removed the water pump a short while ago, just measured the shaft dia and it is .502.

I've got a replacement somewhere, if I can lay my hands on it I'll measure it.

Cheers, the impeller end is indeed 0.5 but the pulley end is what i am after.

Both ends measured the same.

Also the brand new one measures .502 either end of the shaft.

I've never seen one with anything other than a parallel shaft at 1/2" diameter.

Thanks you've answered a question and i have brought a new pulley flange, mine is undersize by 25 thou.. The engine appears untouched since the 1970s and is the original engine for the car so i suppose if its not had a water pump and ancillaries since 1983 then thats how it was made.
