I have recently had my spare standard valve head pressure tested followed by a light skim. As can be seen in the photos there are a number of tiny pin holes and slight corrosion imperfections around a couple of water galleries. With my limited knowledge I assume this is acceptable and unsurprising on a head of this age.The overall condition of the head is very good and there is no sign of any softness, etc. Any thoughts?

Where is the hole that takes a welsh plug? has it been welded up and skimmed ? or has the plug been skimmed so it is flat?
If the plug has been skimmed then the plug must be very thin.

The porosity in the casting is not unusual and provided its passed a pressure test as you say it did should not cause an problems. The amount of corrosion around the water passages is also not unusual and will not cause any problem unless you try to use the head to build a very big bore engine ( sat 85 mm bore) in which case it would advisable to do some repair welding

Yes the normal core plug appears to have been welded up at some stage this also is not uncommon as those plugs do tend to come loose and drop out
