Can someone confirm the fitting on the back of the Elan oil pressure gauge is a male 1/8" BSP?
Thanks,
Chris :)

It seems that the oil pressure fitting on the USA cars is on the exhaust side whereas in the UK it is on the the block on the carb side. Would somebody in the States post a photo of where it is, please, as I would like to fit a warning switch there rather than using a T piece I am at the moment. Is it just in front of the first exhaust port?

My plastic pipe popped off in 1970 stranding me in the country at night and the rescue garage fitted a steel pipe which was impossible to fit properly and I eventually replaced it with a bit of brake pipe. The plastic pipe to the clutch lasted until last year when it touched my new exhaust manifold.

I don't have a photo handy but all US twincams I've owned have the oil pressure take-off on the intake side of the block above and to the right of the oil filter/oil pump. :)

For a bit of added security on small bore hose fittings I find "OTK" clips work great. You need a special plier tool to crimp them but it's well worth the cost. If you use one of these to secure the hose on the nipple it won't come off. See link.
