Just looking at my newly rebuilt engine and worrying that some of the cam lobes look rather dry. I realize I don't understand how oil is even fed to the lobes or followers; where is it supposed to come from?

cheers,

the oil galleries drawing is in the manual ... and here

then oil splashes around and eventually returns to the sump by gravity

I'd seen this image and not understood how it gets to the lobes, so it's the splashing around? whatever gets out the side of the bearings makes its way to the followers maybe?

There is a pocket on the outside of each follower that collects oil to help lubricate the lobe and follower. The oil in this pocket is continually filled by what comes out of the bearings.
