Gus, again in theory i agree but in practice with a good quality Stainless manifold i saw Clutch slave and Alternator heat issues, refitting the Mild steel original reduced this dramatically and fitting a ceramic coated manifold removed the issue altogether.

I am not going to pretend i know why but the 'how close you can get your hand to it' test would suggest the Stainless puts out WAY more heat even though the laser temp gun was reading more or less the same metal surface temp.

I'm finishing up the modification and rebuild of my Peco. Very interesting internal design. There are actually four separate tube elements to the design, two perforated and two not. If anyone reverse engineers one to have reproductions made don't be shocked by the price. There's a lot of work to build one and not much room for savings by increasing the lot size unless you tooled up to make hundreds.

If there is any interest i"ll start a thread on what I did to rebuild mine.
