Hi All

Its all about options, I looked in my records and found I have had two new pulleys in my 31 years of owner ship.
And the present one is new from last year, and all of them leaked at some time ! :(
Through out my ownership I have had the seal leak but only periodically and its never been a major problem but I like to try and solve these minor leaks. I understand the problems of different materials and the expansion and contractions due to heat and vibration and lets face it the design is 1960's and a lot has changed since then.
I suppose it was ok for the road then but when people wanted more power it weaknesses became apparent

My conclusion is that I have been trying to cure a problem that is not really possible to be oil tight over a long period, Rohan has offered a reason for this leak and I feel his observations are correct.

Still a great engine and is part of my past :D

Hands up, I'm not arguing!

I'm just also pondering the options of something I am just about to tackle.

I imagine that very few are totally true. And even then, not for long.
