Delighted to hear the issue was a simple one and easily solved, I recognise the 'senior moment syndrome' .

You dont need to be senior to feel stupid, although I do feel it far more often nowadays

I was in my late 20's when made my mistake with the float chamber vent caps, I was an engineering designer virtually a full time part time mechanic and also truly believed that what i didnt know was not Worth knowing (the folly of youth) and I spent weeks trying to find the cause of my problem, I knew it was fuel starvation but that was all, if there had been a wise 58 year Chancer around I probably would have dismissed any of his suggestions as coming from an old fool

No my younger know it all persona paid a fortune on a Rolling road to finally be shown his senior moment

The Piper 285 cam should give you something in the 135 to 140 hp region.

You shouldn't feel too bad about the missing hole. Had a friend who forgot the hole as well, and there was a recent post on turbosport where the hole had not been drilled.
