Sometimes Tony Ingram has spare rods for sale. Another source is Jay Ivey at Ivey Engines in Portland. The Carillo rods that both Tony and Jay sell are really nice pieces.

He suggested the Chinese forged items.

I have a set from my 3 cylinder twin cam (broke a wrist pin!) core motor that have been polished on the beams, so not sure what that mean from a balance perspective. Still in the motor, though, so would be a week or so before I get to taking them out for inspection.
