crank rear lip seal

I see it's possible to buy a double lip seal for rear of crank from Burton.
It's a lot more expensive than the original single lip seal.
Is it better and has someone fitted a double lip seal. When fitting do you need to put some grease around between the seals so it never runs dry, if so what grease.
Thanks for ideas
Alan
