Elan +2 Cooling Fan Assemby, Please Help!

Greeting Faithful,
I'm attempting to reinstall the radiator and the electric fan assembly on my Plus 2 and can't seem to work out how it all goes back together. The radiator attaches to the support structure with 5 bolts per side; 2 each at the bottom and top and one in the center. The 3 holes per side in the fan motor mounting bracket can be attached in several different ways, aligning with three of the five holes on either side of the radiator. It seems no matter how I mount it, the fan blades interfere with the support tube for the hood/bonnet.
Assuming these are the correct components (see photo) there must be a way to put this together! A picture is worth a thousand words. If someone with the same componentry could offer a picture or any advice as to how this all works, I'd be most grateful.
Last question: I know the fan assembly mounts in the nose of the car, not between the rad and the engine. Assuming I can eventually work out how it mounts, should the fan be wired to "pull" or "push" air through the radiator?
