chrome bezel

PostPost by: geni » Wed Jan 06, 2021 5:27 pm

on the Elan, the "luminous block" headlight is fitted with a clipped "chrome bezel" (often missing)!
Whether it has its origin, I am thinking of an Austin Mini Classic! But which one to choose since there are different models if you can enlighten me. Would be a +

I may have a couple of spares though you’d have to wait until I can access them.

I used a Mini one, though its a bit thinner. Guess that adds lightness!

That's the problem with Auto Translate makes you laugh :? :?
When i worked as Tech English Teacher here in France it was always a battle to stop the Students using Auto Translate.
We used to laugh a lot at the results and shake our heads.
Great fun.

The correct bezel has a spring clip at the bottom to hold it in place. The workshop manual shows a tool which can easily be made for pulling it off.
Other versions for other cars use a screw fitted upwards from below which is not easily accessible on the Elan.
I bought the correct type from Sue Miller
