Fixing leads into 23D dizzy cap?

PostPost by: HJF » Fri Jul 26, 2019 10:05 am

Just received new 23D cap and leads set. Never in my entire time working on cars have I used one of these screw fix caps! How to do? Push bare ends in and tighten screws as far as they will go so as to puncture leads and make contact? Advice welcomed.
Thanks,
Harry

Thanks, just needed a confidence check before I set off with my screwdriver.

What type of lead are you using? if they are carbon core be careful you don't push the screw through the plastic on the other side (easy done as there isn't a huge amount of resistance as the point goes through the silicone insulation) Copper core leads on the other hand you feel the screw hit the hard core as you tighten.
