Elan Battery Code

Hi \,
Old topic bump.
I've had a look through the archives as I'm considering a new battery, the Odyssey one I have id fine, but its big.

From what I have read a type 38 will fit, and maybe an Exide Excel 063. Also as you look at the battery from inside the car the negative terminal needs to be on the right hand side.

So can anyone recommend a battery that will fit and clamp with the original fixings, preferably with a supplier and a code please.

thanks
Mark

Hi Mark,
I replaced the one you installed in the S4 FHC with this one: https://www.tayna.co.uk/car-batteries/enduroline/015/
Does what you asked for, and has been good for the last 3 years.

Cheers
Jonathan

I'm a little puzzled as to why you'd be replacing an Odyssey and saying it's too big? The Odyssey in my car (680?) is less than half the size of the OE lead acid type, it weighs less and has been working perfectly for over 10yrs now. Have batteries moved on to where even that is big?

I bought a big one, a mistake really and I can't use the original fasteners...
