My Elan came to me without a radio although it obviously had one in the past and the gaping hole remained. I looked around for a blanking plate and while doing so found this:

It is perfect for small maps or route books and oddments. And, best of all, it cost $7.50 including shipping!

Thanks for sharing.

For +2 owener's: I bought something very similar, I suspect exactly the same. Unfortunately it too deep to fit in the +2 due to hitting the heater matrix. I should add it back to my TODO list to see about shortening it to fit at some point.

Sorry to hear that-in the Elan it sits perfectly on top of the heater. At least in mine it does...

Good idea, phones, keys and wallets always a problem for me in the Plus 2, thinking of some of these on either side of the tranny tunnel:

I wish there was a US version of that shop/site!

Great idea! It'll look even better with a hinged radio delete plate, blended in with the dash. Hmmm....

Yes, I bought it off the US amazon site--I live one mile from the US border.
The unit comes with three alternative faceplates-I used the middle sized one intended for Nissan I think.

I don't particularly like the shiny inside but I thought "flock it!"
but I haven't yet...
