Electric windows grounding

I don?t do car electrics well

1966 S3.
I have just refurbished the driver?s electric window cable and pulley system (and thanks to Alex Black for his famous fixings that make this job straightforward). However, the electrics work fine, but I found the grounding wire not connected at both ends (from wiring diagram from window motor to courtesy light switch ground).

Presumably, as there are no other connections in the door, it must be grounding via the opposite (up or down) power and the window switch? I guess not a satisfactory arrangement, or can I leave it?

It doesn't need grounding to run. The two wires to the motor are +- in one position and -+ in the other and it's a simple DC motor.

The grounding wire merely grounds the metalwork to avoid radio interference from static electricity buildup.
