Wipers stopped parking, traced fault back to wiper switch park feed. Did not want to remove dash again, so took the opertunity to rewire using relays. The wipers work a lot better and park.
Hope it's of help and hope it's correct.

I am interested in where you sourced the fuse blocks as I would like to set up the lights and wipers on
relays (as it looks like you have done.)

One thought is to have a separate power supply. Maybe an additional thick (brown) wire going from the starter solenoid to a main junction by the wiper motor to provide main power for all of them?

How did you arrange it?

There must be a circuit board available somewhere that would take plug in relays.
Then they could all be wired to one place .

It reminds me I must take the wiper drive cable out and swop it round to try and eliminate the slop!

Bought mostly from AES.

Previous owner had it rewired and an alternator fitted. The thick brown wire from the alternator was used to feed the dip and main beam relays by PO. I have since fused down the circuits using 2 fuse boxes.
Car Builder Solutions have ready made distribution boards.

My buddy just rewired an Esprit using a relay board from Coach Controls. These were designed for custom hot rods. It is wonderfully complete and simple. All fuses and relays are in one place. It is probably overkill for an Elan as it handles AC and auto door locks among other modern amenities.Still, it might be worth a look.

Thanks to you both.

I've bookmarked both sites for appraisal later!
