Where do they come from?

Yesterday, I started the repair of the double throw down mashup of my wiring harness on my Plus2. After cutting back the harness wrap to get to wires that had been hacked up, one pair or wires seemed to be missing from the main engine harness. I could not find the two wires that connect to the reverse light switch on the transmission. Are the supposed to be contained in this harness, or are the separately routed?

:? On my 68+2 there is a short green wire from the double fuse (the one that also goes to the heater switch) this goes to one side of the switch.
The other side of the reverse switch is green and brown. This goes to the reverse lights.
Of course, mine is rhd and non-federal.

The reverse light wires for my 73 plus 2 come off the dash harness, not the engine bay harness? they connect Low down behind the dash next to the drivers knee on a rhd car where the rear harness joins the dash harness. The reverse switch for the 5 speed is at the back of the gear box not the front but the harness is probably the same for 4 and 5 speed cars

Thanks Rohan. There is nothing hanging down in the tunnel area, so it has either been cut off or is tucked back up under the dash. The car is on the lift as I work on the engine compartment wiring and hard to get under the dash. Will lower the car off the lift and do some more detective work before I install the engine.
