fastening wiring loom under bonnet

I am fitting new wiring looms and, as you know, one loom runs from the firewall around the engine to the nose and back, on the opposite side, to the firewell.
It runs along the inner lip of the body and is clipped, as it goes, to the lip.
What was the original method of fastening it?
Obviously, cable ties could be used but I would rather the car be kept original where possible.
Any advice would be most welcome.
Regards,
Bill

They had plastic loop clips, held in place with a basic pin that was like a serrated nail. Sorry I don't have a picture. If you are looking for an original car, you will need to correct parts otherwise something like this would be ideal.

My February 1970 Plus 2S Federal had the black clips like Mike shows. A number of them, actually, with the push rivet things. If you want original from that era, I can take a pic of them; they have the manufacturer cast into the molding.

MacsAutoParts.com, has something similar. Only 2 holes, so they will not tighten up on a small bundle, but for the fat part of the loom, they should work. Listed as 1960-1970 Wiring Harness Hardware, they are black. I used a bunch of them on the Falcon restoration.

Not sure if you have a +2 or +2S. My early car had some of these. I believe original . The nylon ( I think ) straps are shown on the headlamp assembly page. They were used to strap the vacuum pipes to the loom.. possibly used elsewhere... I think there are more than the 2 shown. I haven't found a source for these in black. I think I can reuse what I have. The p clips are available . The screws look to be no 6. I've not found a source of the exact same Rawl plugs. Maybe sue miller ?
I have used p clips to hold the loom in the nose. Added extra nut to the chassis mounts.. not sure if correct.. but am keen to keep the loom of the floor out of any possible puddles.
