I need to change my battery again! Is there a best option here in the UK or is it just another Halfords Job.
My last battery was guaranteed 2 years and it lasted 2 years 2 months
thanks
Dave

My pc1100 is fantastic. Bit pricey but it kicks over rapidly. Its half the size and just about 10 or 12kg

Hi
I'm new to the forum but have owned a 72 Sprint for 35 years.
Battery choice seems to vary depending on whether you've stuck with the Ford terminals or moved to round posts.
With posts you have a good selection and can even get Lucas labelled batteries if 'originality' is your thing.
I recently bought a 4 year guarantee Hankook battery from a local to me national battery megastore for ?30 thereby saving ?7.50 delivery.
So, no, there are plenty of next day delivery firms offering better value longer guarantee batteries than Halfords

Thanks Mark

what was the battery model number and which store did you get it from?

Just been looking at Bosch they have 4 years guarantee but more than double what you paid

thanks
Dave

Hi Dave
It was.an 015 style battery and I've sent PM with store details
With terminals at rear you lose gaudy labelling or it peels off anyway.

My local wholesaler supplies batteries with the number 037 which apparently is the designation for the original size and terminal pattern (rectangular posts). The battery is black with peel off labels. If you want to go extreme it wouldn't be too difficult to mock up an Exide Supreme label which is what they were fitted with new.

As for going bad after just over 2 years I'd be taking it back anyway! Also use a modern trickle charger like an Accumate and it's unlikely to happen.
