Plan to upgrade stereo radio of Lotus

Hi, anyone has tried to replace the stock stereo radio of Lotus yet and install a new aftermarket radio with gps and other features etc. Is it a good idea to do this? What need to note before doing this?

Purists may wince, but this is very easy to do. I have installed Sony MEX-BT5700U in My Elan S2 and Europa Twin Cam. They fit perfectly.
They don't have GPS, but they do have Bluetooth and usb ports, so if you have a smart phone, you should be able to hear the instructions though the car's speakers (I have to admit that I haven't tried this).
