Many thanks, I had heard the term before, but now have read up and understand what it is. There are quite a number of posts on this subject but most seemed to tied up with EFI instalations.

Wasted Spark would make an interesting separate post for those to share there Non EFI WS experience, I will keep hunting the archives to see if it's already been covered.

Best

Peter

Peter,

I covered this quite a bit when I was building my +2 but I am not good at searching :?

I intended to convert the car to full FI and installed a custom made tank with swirl pot and flow and return lines so all the major infrastructure is in place to support a future conversion. The cost of throttle bodies and a decent ECU was going to be a further ?2k (to do properly) so I decided to call a halt and stick with the half way house of distributor less ignition.

It does have the advantage of being mappable which I have had done. It starts very easily and runs nicely though I still find the carbs to be a bit of a pain with their tendency to foul plugs and run rich at tickover and pop and spit on over run (which, contrary to others, I really do not like)

I may yet bite the bullet and do the full FI but for the moment the car runs very well and does provide the considerable comfort of knowing that the sparky bits are out of harms way.
