Hi all,
well I've got my new old steering wheel installed on my s3, and a while ago i snapped up a NOS indicator switch.
I had a go at fitting it and found that it sticks out slightly beyond the wheel. Like the stalk is too long.

does anyone know how long the original stalk should be? should it go beyond the wheel or sit just inside?

I know these switches were also fitted to a lot of triumphs including tr4's with 16 inch steering wheels, perhaps that's where this switch belongs.

cheers,
Jim

Surely the cheapest and maybe not the easiest option would be to take off the end cut to required length and re glue? Well maybe!

Its in such perfect condition, dis-assembly looks to involve destruction.

Hi
If it's any help I have a flat 13" diameter steering wheel on my S3, the end of the stalk is just short of the outer leather cover
Measurement from the column cover to the end tip in old money is 4 1/4"

Jim,
I have a 14" outside diameter Chapman steering wheel on my S3.
My indicator stalk also projects 4 1/4" from the cover and lines up with the inside diameter of the leather covered wheel at 12 1/4" diameter.
It falls nicely to the fingers behind the wheel and feels correct.
Of course that never means it is correct, but it feels right to me.
