Car is a 72 +2s federal w/dealer installed AC

On top of my pedal box is an electrical device with all marking destroyed. I can find no reference to it in the wiring diagrams. Going through the forums I came across a post the leads me to believe that it is a voltage regulator. Can some please confirm this

Also in the pic you can see a white plastic piece at the top right rear of the pedal box. Mine is broken and I can see no use for it. Can anyone identify this unit

It's not factory, so not sure what it is probably ac related. Some pic of the ac install world be very interesting!

The white plastic thing is the brake light switch. Not sure where the wiring for it has gone (looking for green and light green + purple). Looks a lot easier to change on alhd than rhd...

Never seen one like it, but red green and black might be mains?

The other wire might be a feed to a battery retuning via earth?

Could be a built in charger, jut plug in the mains to keep the battery topped up?

The device in the cast housing on top of the pedal box is the voltage regulator. The US East Coast distributor, Lotus East of Millerton, NY devised their own AC installation and they used a Motorola alternator with external voltage regulator. My 71 +2S (federal) had the same installation. The white plastic device most certainly has a function, it is the brake light switch. This is a Lotus original item.

Never seen anything like that!

I was with Rohan, but then realised it was a LHD car so it would be on the wrong side.

Did a search for Alternator regulators...... R2AM1 or 2 or 3 or 4

If the brake lights still work, perhaps a P.O. has converted to a pressure switch! I went the other direction when my pressure switch was damaged.
