Alternator.

Rebuilt this today.
Realised I had no idea which wire went where on the slip rings.
Since they're just connecting an electromagnet I just soldered them back on.
Correct?

Two wires terminate the rotor field windings to the slip rings. This alternator has the later flat plate slip rings

The field wires have no identification and could be connected to either inner or outer ring.
I don't think it matters. Does it?

I would say electrically no difference

The stationary windings have an alternating EMF and that is then rectified and smoothed.
