S2 Wiper motor - S2 Restorati

Hi all,
Anyone know how I can test the wiper motor before fitting ?

I have a double male socket coming off the motor : one male terminal with two wires and next to it a single wire on another male terminal....I think these should go to the rotary wiper switch. Then I have a negative earth wire attached to the casing.

Before blowing the motor up ; If I connect the two wires in the double socket together (+) and (-) to the earth tag would this be oK::.??
