The speaker and power wiring is built into the loom of my 73 Plus2S 130/5 so you may have it hidden in there.

I believe this is the early +2 (1967) and as you can see it has a radio. As far as i was aware all +2 had radio's don't know about aerial type though.

I have just looked through my collection of period photos, though, which does appear to confirm wot I said!

Just looked at period photos myself from the GGLC web site, and there were definitely NO HOLES when they came out of the mold for an aerial.

The Aerial on the Sprint demonstrator looks the same as my Electric gizmo? Tried to find an in boot picture but they filled it full of bags and Luggage.

Coming out of the mould the bodies had no 'ole for the filler cap either.

Here is a photo of S3 FHCs on the line. One has an aerial 'ole, t'other doesn't.

And a photo of a S1 coming out of the mould. No 'oles!

According to the Price list the Turn-lock radio,Speakers and Aerial was a ?40 option on the +2 the car in the pic above is very early.

Tim, the Aerial holes where drilled in not moulded in, on my +2 and Elan it is a few smaller holes that are used to make one bigger one, it will just be an option.

The Radio Kit must have been quite an expensive extra then?

Quite possibly, I haven't had the dash out so hard to confirm but didn't spot any wiring in or around the radio hole. There also no signs of speaker wires heading into the door, just the window power and light wires. So if it is there it is well hidden behind the dash.

WIth it being Lotus I suspect the wiring isn't present in my car as it either been removed by a PO or Lotus had multiple looms and your car got one with radio wiring and mine got one with out...

As previously state the radio was an option on the +2. Andy Graham has confirm my car came from the factory without the radio.

The speakers were in the rear parcel shelf and the speaker wiring in the loom coming from the rear of the car up to the dash. The speaker wires from the radio were run down outside the dash loom to meet the wires in the rear loom that went to the speakers. You may find them behind the dash where the rear loom joins the front and dash looms
