Is this switch right?

I'm assembling the new dashboard on my Elan and can't get the headlamp switch to fit. I did not remove this so I have my doubts it's the right one as it doesn't push in far enough to fit the chrome nut. This is what I have
The dash is recessed at the back so that it's not much more than 1/4" thick around the hole, so no chance of removing any more material. Is the switch right? Or is the dash wrong? If the switch is wrong does anyone have the right one they might be willing to exchange for beer money?
BTW no-one as yet given any advice on where/how to route the battery main cable as detailed in my project restoration thread. No problem, honest , but I need help !!!!!
I'm now considering moving the battery to the boot. Is this a good idea or will the originalists be mortally offended

It's alright everyone, no need to rush to reply it is the right switch, just tried to fit it in wrong hole how embarrassing. Just swapped the heater switch for the light switch at a senior moment, what an idiot.

Huh O............ ........and I've just spent all day glassing a shelf for the battery in the boot Well no-one said.....! I could de-glass it I suppose, but surely it makes sense to move the battery to the boot? Brian Buckland advocates it and even Lotus did it in the end, so apart from upsetting the purists ( sorry Mark ) doesn't it make sense?

Brian has only driven his Elan 800,000 miles and written the definitive book on Elan restoration....what would he know!?
The Elan lends itself to being 'upgraded'. Fortunately it's nearly always easily reversible!
