Plate screwed to side of heater behind dash

Morning all,

I was looking at the wiring behind the dash (from the passenger side) at the weekend - I had a loose connection which i needed to sort.

While i was diggin around i noticed that there is a plate attached to the side of the heater with a number of spade connectors going to it. Think it has thick brown / white as well as maybe red and balck connected (will check tonight). Does anyone know what this is / is for? Its getting hot when the cars running, the sort of hot that feels electrical rather than inducted from the heater.

Any suggestions much appriciated
Ralph

Hello,

Sounds like the resistor for the fan so it runs at 2 speeds. Can't remember the correct wiring and do have a picture of it but I'm on work laptop :P . If you want a pic to make sure we're talking about the same thing let me know.

Tony

Thanks Tony,

I just googled Heater resistor and got a pic of exactly what I'm looking at as well as a link to another thread on here that helps answer my question.
