A bit of both, firstly if they are visbible (e.g. Engine Bay) they stick out like a sore thumb due to the colo(u)red insulators
Secondly I don't think you can crimp those connectors on very well. Every time I have checked those connectors you can pull them off without too much effort.
I have the AutoSparks bullet crimp tool (http://www.autosparks.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=1012 which produces a hexagonal crimp, never been able to pull a bullet off!
the tool is expensive, but good!
