Ignition Switch & Heater Clearance

Having just installed the heater as far forward and up as far as it will go I thought I would check the amount of clearance behind the ignition switch blade contacts. The lower ones only have about 1/4" between the end of the contact and the heater casing. The loom assembly is brand new and interestingly I see that a lot of the rocker switch connectors have sensibly been fitted with right angle female spade connectors, so why do they not fit these to the ignition switch ones! My intention is therefore to remove the existing ones and replace with the right angle version. This will then overcome the problem. The only other possible solution would be to gently bend the ignition switch blades flat, but this seems an inferior engineering solution! Has anyone had a similar issue with the ignition switch.

William,
I also thought that right angle 'flag' connections should be used. I bought mine from Vehicle Wiring Products in Ilkeston Derbyshire www.vehicleproducts.co.uk They also market plastic insulation covers to go over the terminals.
