Should the coutersy door switches on a S4 DHC Elan be wired up so that they switch on the dashboard mounted light or is this just switched on and off via the dash switch?

My Federal '72 Sprint has the door switches turning on/off the dash mounted light, along with the dash rocker switch. The dash has two rockers under "LIGHTS" , one for panel and one for interior (dash mounted light).

+1 What Greg said, same for Std car as Federal per the wiring diagrams.
