Does anyone have a spare distributor clamp for the twin-cam engine? My engine is missing this small but vital piece. I'm happy to pay a sensible price and postage from anyone in the UK.

Why not treat your twink to a new one?

Don't fasten them too tight, I hear they can crush the distie stem.

Any such clamp I mean not just that particular new one.

Hi Mike,
Not sure if they are still available but QED used to do a special one which was meant to help stop the crushing of the distributer stem. I have one somewhere which I must find and use on my restoration project.
Cheers

This supplier is very helpful, he has a large stock of salvaged parts.

Also this is a bit of out of the box, blue sky thinking.

I like that DIY solution, but I have neither the expertise or machine tools to allow me to attempt it. Shame.

Placement of clamp bolt is on top on worst bolt-list: under the carbs, downwards, backwards and to the engine mount. Only challenged by coolant drain plug under the exhaust manifold...
