Securing Plus 2 Battery

PostPost by: tonyr27 » Fri Oct 18, 2013 9:06 am

New to Plus 2 ownership and just getting familiar with the car and listing things to do over the winter.

My battery is not secured by any brackets in the boot well, can anyone provide a photo of the method of securing or suggest any better ways to make it safer.

Hi

You can use the search facility at the top of the page. I searched for "battery clamp" and came up withis thread:

lotus-electrical-f38/battery-clamp-t15489.html

You could also use this very good online parts manual (although not much use in this case):

http://www.rdent.com/manuals/index.html

But keep asking - there are plenty of people willing to help.

Hi Tony,

I made a bracket up myself. I used some flat bar, 20mmx5mm, and bent it so that it had a small foot at the bottom, at the top it was bent to go over the top of the battery. I stuck some neopreme foam under the top piece to cushion it against the battery.

Drilled a hole in the foot and bolted it to the threaded bobbin on the boot floor next to the battery, works well.
